cradle of life

Her tooth hung from her
Chin after the
Steely chariot
Shifted from
Pavement to
Grass

Slid forty feet
From side to side
She’d flipped it too

Sirens blared
And woke up
The old man
Who had stayed up
Watching letterman
Wondering what happened
To this world.

A black man president
20 dollar cases of beer
And pizza that tastes the same

And as she sat
Upside down in
The casket wannabe

She looked to the sky
Which was actually the dirt
And prayed
But was actually a cry

And the paramedics
Found her with
Glass in her eye

And the old man
Went back to bed
